#101. Floetry by JulietKego: Hide and Seek

Floetry by JulietKego: Hide and Seek

Listen to the audio of the poem here:

Jigida beads

Bia, obim

come, my beloved,

ka anyi cho okwu;

let us tease their senses,

play our game of hide and seek

And when the world comes to

seek you:

I will hide you

in the rose-tinted

rouge I choose to wear,

masking life’s fisted,

harsh, hidden bruises

and the world will look for you

in the crevices of my dimples

and in the groves of my belly-button,

transfixed,

by the secret blush

I wear on my cheeks.

I will hide you

in the sing-song poems

rolling off my tongue-kissed lips

the musky taste of your 7 oils,

mixing and spicing up my words

and the world’s pilgrims

will seek

to taste your miracles

in the hot juices

you poured in me

I will hide you

as a golden locket

in a secret chain of cowrie charms

around my neck,

your laughter,

tingling on the dangling pendant

resting like a whisper,

near my heart,

The world will feel you

in the soft caress

of fevered skin,

between my breasts

I will hide you,

in layered Jigida beads

curving round my willowy waist

when I sway,

you’ll roll

gently, down my hips,

stopping shy

of the crested delta between my valleys

the faithful will seek to touch you,

in reverence,

in the salty moistness

between my thighs.
