All Saints' Day

Floetry by JulietKego: All Saints’ Day

Climb over life’s fence
Dig up the hallowed shallow
graves, of the ones who came before
And walked paths zig-zag and narrow
Burn their ashes into a cloud of incense

Steal a flame from the night;
light up the morrows
Strike open the soft, mushy marrows
of bones, buried through the ages
And pour out the healing oils
from their cartilages

Anoint the living dead and healthy sick
Wash ’em clean of layers of temptations’ tar
Here, living sinners and dead saints meet
To exchange notes of the journey so far….
