#StandUpAgainstRape #113. Floetry by JulietKego: Blowing Balloons

Sexual Assault
(To all my sisters who’re still finding their way, and forced to blow, my wish and prayer for you is that one day soon, all you’ll ever blow, are your big balloons of dreams….)
Floetry by JulietKego: Blowing Balloons…
I
When I called you beloved sisters
He tried to convince me you were foes
And he said many vile things about you
Called you bitchy-slutty-whorish-hoes
That you are filled with pits of sin
You are a good-for-nothing, dirty thing
And you’re only great at doing one job
which to simply to blow
I smiled gently into his eyes
And let him spill truthful lies
Beloved sisters, what does he know?
II
Beloved sisters, what does he know
Of your first communion classes
Right after those holy masses
When the old bearded smiling saint
(The one we lovingly called Blessed Father)
Bounced you on his knees and thighs
You astride, with your tutu-skirt aflutter
Mumbling through his moans and sighs
Begging you to ride him like you did your toy pony
And then to kneel for a drop of his waters, holy
Promising you a gift of his candy-coated-balloon
Asking you to close your eyes, open up your mouth
Purse your lips after he’s popped it in and simply blow…
III
Beloved sisters, what does he know?
Of you studying so damn hard,
for a first-class ticket to your future
And then crushed at hearing there’ll be no free passes
Unless you attend the private lecture after the classes
Where the old bearded smiling sage
(The one we reverently called brilliant Professor)
Said words that made your dreams a-shatter
Pinning and grinding you on his knees and thighs
You astride, with your maxi-skirt a-flutter
Him, mumbling through his moans and sighs
Ordering you to ride him like
his grand- daughter did her toy pony
And then to kneel for a drop of his waters; holy
At the end, giving you a gift of his balloon
Asking you to close your eyes, fsuck hard
Purse your lips and simply blow…
IV
Beloved sisters, what does he know?
Of you working in the banking prisons of targets
Of you hustling to build your companies
And hearing that the contracts will not be paid
And the hefty deposits will never be made
Unless you attend the meeting after the meetings
Where the old bearded senator’s ready to get laid
(The one we all fondly called the people’s leader, OFR)
Boxed you in and bounced you on his knees and thighs
You astride, with your ankara-skirt a-flutter
Him, mumbling through his moans and sighs
Ordering you to ride him just like
his great-grand daughter did her toy pony
And then to kneel for a drop of his waters, holy
At the end, giving you a gift of his barely blown balloon
Asking you to close your eyes, fsuck harder
And then purse your lips and simply blow…
V
Beloved sisters, today, I say go on and blow
Blow up and pop up all the balloons and balls
From pulpit, lecture, corporate to senate halls
Beloved sisters, blow up the shackles that bind
Blow up the lies, together we’ll grow up new ties
Of sisterhood that’s unshakeable, true and strong
Together, let us fight to right your wrong
Come, sisters, as one, explode, blow up with holy rage
So that our daughters shall never be forced to blow
balloons of shrunken skin that ooze of salty semen
Let us help them reclaim their spots as salts of the lands
Let us gift them with innocence of playgrounds and soft sands
Where balloons are made with innocent rubbers
of stretched dreams
And let them blow only the breath
that build up and give life to impossible dreams….

P.S: Happy to announce that the randy UNILAG lecturer who raped a prospective student (the daughter of his family friend), has been found guilty and sentenced to prison. Our thoughts and prayers are with the young girl and her father, who were both courageous enough to speak out and see this case to the very end. And we salute the pro bono lawyers and advocacy group who were relentless in pursuing the case and ensured justice was done. Evil can only thrive in the dark, speak out bring it into the light and watch it disintegrate…. ❤ Jules
